Local strawberries are here in full force and they taste even better than they look.
I picked up 2 baskets from Jerry at the Barrys Bay market on Friday and ate a bunch right away.
I turned one basket into jam. My fIrst canning of the season.
I got 7 jars and its pretty awesome. I used my usual method of fruit, sugar and lemon boiled until it’s the right consistency. There are lots of haters out there on the web who say that added pectin gives a better product. I disagree. This stuff is awesome.
I still have more berries to process. I’m perusing picked strawberry recipes. I’ll keep you posted.
