A salad with egg and preserved lemon vinaigrette

Lunch of Champions :).

Summer people have arrived on the lake and in town. It’s not my quiet little corner of the world anymore. Still better than not being here 🙂

A Sunday afternoon nap might be just the thing. Can’t hurt.

New Potatoes

I almost forgot what a potato was supposed to taste like. Brilliant. Who thinks these things up?

The International Food Fair in BB was good but it rained. I stayed just long enough to get a sample of N’s jerk chicken (mm – even  if it was dead animal) and some baklava.  A worthwhile excursion.

Every day there are more and more people about. The weekend will be crazy it will be interesting to see it from this side of the fence. I look forward to it.

I did a bad thing

From the chip truck

From the chip truck

At least it was a veggie burger 🙂
I bought this for lunch at the chip truck today. Not bad at all. The place was hopping.

Feeling better but not out of the woods

IMG_00000316

Feeling much better today and I managed a full day at work – followed by a dead-to-the-world nap on the couch.

Dinner was leftovers (make-aheads?) from the freezer. A very loose interpretation of Manjula’s Potato Curry with Yogurt Gravy. With kale added cuz who doesn’t like adding kale to everything!

This meal had some mileage attached. The potatoes were from the grocery store. The spices are from the cupboard (purchased from Onkar in Kitchener). The heat was from my own dehydrated habaneros. The yogurt was homemade and of course the kale came from David. I’ll post more about hime sometime. Fascinating man.

Here is my evening view.

Sunday Dinner After Weekend Away

image

A fairly typical dinner for my first post. This was dinner from Sunday. Eggs from Grandma’s Pantry. Asparagus from David. Lettuce salad from David with my own habanero vinaigrette made with Jessies apple cider vinegar. MmM.

Monday night I didn’t do so well. Home sick and feeling like poo, I craved pringles and canned soup. It was as dreadful as you can imagine. It must have been the fever thinking. Clearly, no picture.
